As she began her veterinary private practice career, she continued her interest in show and performance dogs. She has successfully competed in conformation, obedience, and herding events, achieving many titles with her dogs. She provides on-site veterinary care at dog competitions, with the combined perspective of both a competitor and a veterinarian. She is a frequent speaker at animal interest events, and is the veterinary section editor for an award winning national magazine, the Australian Shepherd Journal. Her latest project is a weekly blog for the Times Union newspaper's website, focusing on natural care for pets. Dr. Coger received her certification as a Veterinary
Chiropractioner from the International Association of Veterinary
Chiropractitioners, the largest animal adjusting organization in the world.
This alternative technique has helped a number of animals whose conditions were
thought to be “beyond help”, as well as canine athletes in competition. She also uses low level laser therapy to further enhance treatments. By
combining adjustments with nutritional therapy, other complementary medical means,
and conventional medicine, Dr. Coger’s unique approach to veterinary care has
contributed to the health and well being of many pets.
